Miguel Rozas is a Chilean-Belgian director born in 1971 in Temuco, Chile. He currently lives between Berlin and Brussels.
His visual work carries strong socio-political connotations, reflecting a compelling contemplation, particularly in the context of the exposed globalization and the crisis of the neoliberal model.
His approach involves going beyond the obvious, observing the subject carefully, and engaging with it. The challenge is to see beyond distraction and ostentation in order to capture its unique character. He aims to encourage the viewer to consider the world around them with greater attention, discovering beauty and humanity in unusual places.
Miguel Rozas studied visual arts in Santiago, Chile (ARCOS), Würzburg (FHWS), and Toulouse (ESAV), and participated in the 2013 master's program at the Universität der Künste (UDK) in Berlin.
His research primarily focuses on the relationship between politics and media, as well as the creation of portraits in cinema and photography that highlight social minorities. He has also collaborated as a director and cameraman for several television networks in Europe and worked with contemporary artists in South America, Europe, and China.
His visual work has been showcased multiple times in solo and group exhibitions worldwide.
